Last day of summer/autumnal equinox

Spending my lunch break outside! I borrowed a blanket from the office and am sitting in the sun on some grass beside the Burke-Gilman trail. My head is killing me but I can't miss what may be the last of the nice weather for six months.

University District Farmer's Market, Saturday

Wandering around the produce and natural meats, I can plan a month's worth of meals in a matter of minutes! Now if I only had cashmoney...I love all the varieties of eggplant, squash, and apples on display--the colors are amazing.

Cattle dog?

Snuggles after a long night of doggie GI problems. How much grass can one canine eat? About two hours' worth. I should have named him Cow!

Swanky food soiree

Sunday night I attended a fabulous little dinner party at Mike and Maggie's house. Not only is my future sister-in-law gorgeous...


...but ladies and gentlemen, the woman can cook! Coq au vin with creamy Parmesan polenta, mixed greens with cranberries and lemon-garlic vinaigrette, and flip-over plum cake (from the must-own tome Baking by Dorie Greenspan).

Hung out with cool folks, and "the guys" got some quality time in on the Xbox together:
