You may have noticed of late that this blog has had a lot of puppy pictures. Samwise Gamgee Vimes came to our house on February 12. He was born on December 28, 2008, and spent his early weeks on an alpaca farm in Covington, WA. Sam loves to snuggle, chew on soft toys, and watch LOST and Battlestar Galactica--serial TV dramas FTW! However Sam has no taste for The Colbert Report--I suspect he's too young to appreciate Stephen the way I do. He also doesn't like it when I laugh as it disrupts his naps.

He is a mini Australian Shepherd, blue Merle in color, with hazel/brown eyes and a wedge of blue in his right eye. David Bowie eyes, big time.

While I will try to post more often about other stuff, like knitting, foodie cooking, etc., Sam is the big news. Enjoy his puppyhood!

How to avoid road rage.

Step one: Acquire puppeh.
Step two: Take puppeh for a ride in the car.
Step three: Watch puppeh sleep at every stoplight.

Knitting a la Starbucks.

Knitting as interpreted by ceramic coffee mugs from corporate Seattle = faux-Aran cabling. And now I want to knit friggin' coffee sleeves.

OMGWTF breakfast

Jasmine rice and Greek yogurt! Best. Food. Ever. At least until dinner, which was a bit of baked sweet potato and organic plain whole milk yogurt. Way better than my ramen.

Inauguration day cake @ Costco. Really.

Why does the chocolate frosted cake have quotes, but the vanilla one doesn't? Say in Church Lady voice: "Could it be RACISM?!?!" And really, unnecessary quotation marks are so last Thursday... ;)
